Ginger Happy Tummy Oatmeal Bites Recipe

Ginger is considered a functional flavor. It helps to settle the tummy when nerves and intensity are high which can prevent athletes from getting enough fluid and calories down. Use foods like this with ginger to help settle your tummy and get the fuel down you need to perform.

Ingredients:

2 cup quick oats
¼ cup ground flax seeds
1 teaspoon salt
½+1 teaspoon dried ginger
½ cup maple syrup
½ cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
½ cup candied ginger, chopped into raisin size or smaller
¼ cup quick oats, ground

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl combine and mix oats, flax seed meal, salt and ½ teaspoon dried ginger. 

  2. Add maple syrup, peanut butter, candied ginger and coconut oil and stir with a stiff spatula or large wooden spoon. Use hands to mix the rest of the way to even consistency.

  3. In a small bowl mix the ground quick oats and 1 teaspoon dried ginger.

  4. Scoop out 1 tablespoon-sized ball of mix and squeeze to keep uniform and make round. Roll in oat ginger mixture and repeat until the mix is gone. 

Servings per Recipe: 24

Notes:  The batter will taste like what it’s going to taste like in bar form, SO, add more spice, maple syrup, peanut butter, or whatever other ingredients you want to get it to taste like what you like.
